Your Course: The course is divided into 47 modules. Some modules are just for inch topics, others for metric, while still others are appropriate for both systems of measurement. Three elements make up a module: instruction; written tests called Work Sheets; and interactive tests. Instruction is provided over the web, however, due to internet bandwidth limitations in some locations, the larger multimedia files are also available on CD-ROM. This support CD supplies the larger video clips, narration, graphics and animation files and allows those experiencing slow performance to substantially increase the quality. |

| You can test your connection by viewing samples of the instruction available at the "FREE SAMPLES" link above. These samples reside on the training web site and will provide an accurate test of your web connection. If the result is not satisfactory, call 1-800-624-6968 to receive the free Support Files CD-ROM. After you receive the CD-ROM and perform the installation, you can then return to the samples page and evaluate the training experience before committing to the course.

Accessing Work Sheets: Written tests are provided as Work Sheets for each module. You can print these pages by selecting the "Guides & Tools" tab on the Student web page. Work sheets include questions covering each of the topics within the module. The content of Work Sheets is determined by the selection of inch, metric or both systems of measurement when registering. Up to 878 questions may be provided if all 47 modules are included. Click here to see a sample Work Sheet page. To learn more see the "MANUALS" link above. |

| Accessing Interactive Tests: The interactive test is made available to you under the "Training Activity" tab after you have viewed the instruction. There are an average of 13 questions in each test. Some of those questions may have as many as 20 steps that must be completed. These multi-step questions are typically "simulation" questions that require you to complete a measurement task. Remember, you cannot fail these tests! If you make a mistake, you simply go back to the instruction to figure out what you did wrong, then try the question again. The goal of this course to make sure you have the information you need to perform the job tasks easily and correctly; you are not studying for a "grade". You will NOT have questions about the history of micrometers or other "nice-to-know" topics. You will only be tested on "need-to-know" information and only after you have received the instruction you need to answer them. If you select the Inch system, you will answer 575 questions in the 47 tests. If Metric is selected, you will receive 574 questions. If both systems of measurement are selected, you receive 644 questions. |

Job Aids: In addition to the instruction and Work Sheets, job aids are available. The 40 page "Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Job Aid" is a PDF file that should be printed for every trainee. It provides a detailed explanation of the various symbols and provides a graphic illustration of the correct method of performing the measurement on a surface plate. A sample page is available at this JOB AID link. |

| Real-World Examples: Most scenes were recorded in manufacturing shops and show actual production environments and work pieces. Computer animations and graphics are used to explain some concepts, such as the coordinate grid. To see samples of the instruction click on "Instruction and Test Demo" above. |
