Your Course: The course is divided into 47 modules. Some modules are just for inch topics, others for metric, while still others are appropriate for both systems of measurement. Three elements make a module: instruction; written tests called Work Sheets; and interactive tests. Instruction is provided over the web, however, due to internet bandwidth limitations in some locations, the larger multimedia files are also available on CD-ROM. This support CD supplies the larger video clips, narration, graphics and animation files and allows those experiencing slow performance to substantially increase the quality. |

| You can test your connection by viewing samples of the instruction available at the "FREE SAMPLES" link above. These samples reside on the training web site and will provide an accurate test of your web connection. If the speed is not satisfactory, call 1-800-624-6968 to receive the free Support Files CD-ROM. After you receive the CD-ROM, you can then return to the samples page and evaluate the training experience before committing to the course.

Accessing Work Sheets: Written tests are provided as Work Sheets for each module. The instructor or trainee can print these pages by selecting the appropriate tab on their web page. Work sheets include questions covering each of the topics within the module. The content the Work Sheets is determined by the selection of inch, metric or both systems of measurement when registering the trainee. Trainees receive 878 questions if all 47 modules are included. Click here to see a sample Work Sheet page. To learn more see the "MANUALS" link above. |

| Accessing Interactive Tests: The interactive test is made available to the trainee under the "Training Activity" tab once they have viewed the instruction. There are a total of 644 questions in the tests if all 47 modules are included, but some of those questions may have as many as 20 steps that must be completed. These multi-step questions are typically "simulation" questions that require the trainee to complete a measurement task. Remember, the trainee cannot fail these tests! If they make a mistake, they simply go back to the instruction to figure out what they did wrong, then try the question again. The goal of this course to make sure they have the information they need to perform their job tasks; they are not studying for a "grade". If you select the Inch system, your trainees will answer 575 questions as they progress. If Metric is selected, they receive 574 questions. If both systems of measurement are selected, they receive 644 questions. Since some of these question have multiple steps, they are effectively answering approximately 800 questions. |

| Job Aids: In addition to the instruction and Work Sheets, job aids are available. The 40 page "Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Job Aid" is a PDF file that should be printed for every trainee. It provides a detailed explanation of the various symbols and provides a graphic illustration of the correct method of performing the measurement on a surface plate. A sample page is available at this JOB AID link. |
