Content: The Student Guide includes the Work Sheets for all ten lessons of the course. (Sample Work Sheet page) The Work Sheet is a written test that can be used as a pre-test to establish initial competency, as a discussion guide during classroom sessions, as a post test after viewing a lesson video, or as a note taking device during self-paced sessions.
Quick Start: At the beginning of the Student Guide manual, a group of Quick Start pages provide a view of the start-up screens that the student will see when beginning a CD-ROM test. (Sample QuickStart Page) It provides an explanation of the navigation buttons and controls found there. These pages are followed by examples of the various types of questions found on the CD-ROM.
Questions: The questions are grouped to identify from which part of the lesson video they came. This enables the individual to quickly find the source of the answer. Each question is identified as being general, inch specific, or metric specific. The instructor can identify which questions individuals should be answering. The answers to all Student Guide questions are found in the Leader's Guide.
GD&T Job Aid: This tool will overcome one of the most common errors involving the interpretation of GD&T on prints. While many operators can identify the name of a symbol from a readily available aids, they do not correctly perform the measurement itself. The first three lessons of the course cover print reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Following the Lesson 2 Work Sheet is a 40 page job aid. (Sample Job Aid Page) This tool provides a reference for identifying each symbol and, more importantly, a description of the method required to correctly perform the measurement of each tolerance.
