The Instruction: The course includes 10 lessons on videocassette, or as seen here on DVD. Each lesson runs an average of 25 minutes in length. Scenes include those of measuring instruments and workpieces, blue prints, as well as graphics and animations of difficult to understand concepts. Close-ups views of measuring scales and prints make reading and understanding easy for everyone.
Reliable Resource: Whether you are teaching adults or those new to the topics, video or DVD based instruction provides a flexible, easy-to-use delivery medium. If you prefer to use a self-paced method with your adult learners, you can be confident they will be able to use the common VCR or DVD controls as they progress through the lessons. Using the videos within class gives the instructor the ability to concentrate on providing individual assistance rather than the repetitious delivery of the same content class after class. The lessons provide a consistent and reliable informational resource for all classes and students.
Lesson Parts: Each lesson is divided into 3 to 5 parts. Each part represents a topic. The DVD menus enable you to locate and play any part or simply play the complete lesson in sequence. The questions in the Work Sheet found in the Student Guide are indexed to the parts of the instruction. This allows the student to quickly locate the area in the instruction where they will find the answer to any question.
Realistic Content: The instruction does not include any "talking heads". Instead, your students see real prints, workpieces and measuring instruments used in shops like those found in your community. The narrator explains what the trainee is seeing in simple easy-to-understand language written at a 7th to 8th grade level of comprehension.
