Are you getting what you paid for? With most formal courses you pay for what is being taught, not how much you learn. With MasterTask, you can return to the instruction within a module as often as you need to achieve 100% on the test. And there are no questions about the history of the CNC or other irrelevant information.
The realistic simulations of the job tasks make it interesting and challenging without risking a mistake on the job. If you make a mistake no one needs to know but you and your computer. And you get as many chances as you need to get it right! It is a no-fail course.
There is NOT a lot of reading from the computer screen. After all, if you wanted a book, you would have bought one! Yet, the free Student Guide manual lets you create a complete reference document covering everything taught in the course that will serve your needs for years to come.
The Solution: MasterTask training, with 36 years of experience in developing courseware for machinery operators, gives you the tools you need.
This course achieves four major goals:

1. Provide instruction on the major brands of CNC Controls and include both G & M code and conversational programming.

2. Provide simulations of the controls so you can practice the tasks without the pressure of production situations or the fear of damaging equipment.

3. Give you the power to select exactly the training materials you need.

4. Learn at your own pace with a schedule that meets your needs without relying on on-the-job instructors that may not be completely prepared themselves.

Focused Instruction and Testing: To make sure you get exactly what you need, you select the CNC control models you'll learn when you register for the online course. The CNC controls include the common models of GE Fanuc, Fanuc, General Numeric, Haas, Okuma and Mazak. It is estimated that 85% or more of the machining centers in shops today use one of the controls covered by this course.

Other control models will be added to the course in the future. You have will access to more instruction to keep your skills at their most marketable.
Simulations: Schools can't afford to have examples of all of the common CNC controls in their labs. Yet those are the skills you need in today's competitive world. You'll be tested on realistic simulations of the computer screens and control panels you will find in industry. You will learn the job tasks, and if you're already employed in the industry, you can put them into practice each day as your knowledge grows. You really can "work smarter, not harder".
Covering All the Tasks: To be a productive machinist, there is more to learn than the CNC control. All of the common operating and set up tasks are covered including topics like troubleshooting faulty part features, reducing cycle time and even basic tasks such as mounting a chuck, installing jaws, and turning the jaw surfaces.
Advancement: The five units within the course begin with the basics and advance from Machine Tender, to Operator, Setup Operator, and eventually Setup Programmer. Your skills will give you the potential to advance within this growing portion of manufacturing. Reports from many trainees indicate they are able to handle just about any brand or model of CNC control once they complete this course, even those not specifically covered in the material.
The Learning Sequence: After viewing a module, you may answer the questions in the Work Sheet for that Unit. You can go between the Work Sheet and the Core and Specific sections of the module until you feel you have all the information. Then begin the Interactive Test. The test questions that will appear will be determined by the CNC control choices you made for the course. Once you answer all the questions in a test, you'll be allowed to advance to the next module or section. You'll have help available at the click of the mouse. E-mail our consultants if you have any questions about a test item for a quick reply.
